An uptrend is basically when the price of an asset rises in a predictable manner, setting progressively higher-highs and higher-lows. Whenever an asset is in an uptrend, it’s important to look for brief bearish moves that fail to set lower-lows. Markets don’t go up forever, so capitalizing on brief reversals that fail to break the trend can be a useful addition to your trading strategy. It can help you enter an established bullish trend when your money has been sitting on the sidelines. It can be a good way to add more to an existing position. Finally, it’s a great way for short term traders to take advantage of quick oversold bounces at the shorter time frames.
