Re-QuoteBack to Glossary
Re-quote is simply the practice of re-quoting a price back to a trader when a broker is unable to secure their desired price on the market. This normally takes place during highly-volatile trading times, such as during earnings season, or when high profile economic indicators are due to be released. Re-quotes occur when the price has moved so quickly that the requested price is no-longer valid by the time the broker receives it from the trader and attempts to execute it.
