Oscillator

Back to Glossary

Oscillators are a type of technical indicator that plots the output value of some kind of trend indicator or moving average between two extreme values. RSI and MACD are two examples of a technical indicator that uses an oscillator. They are generally used to identify overbought and oversold conditions in order to pinpoint trend reversals.
