Gravestone DojiBack to Glossary
Gravestone Dojis are a type of Doji candlestick shape used by technical analysts to identify bearish reversals. A Gravestone Doji’s open, close and low levels are almost identical, whereas it has a long upper wick, indicating that there was a great deal of volatility during the session that eventually sent the price down. Technically, a Gravestone Doji is the opposite of a Dragonfly Doji, with a long lower wick rather than a long upper wick. When a Gravestone Doji is found at the top of an established uptrend it can be a strong signal for bullish traders to take profits or bearish traders to enter the market.
